HISTORY OF
TBT BILOXI BEACH

The Blind Tiger Madisonville is located at Marina Del Ray on the Tchefuncte River. Residents and visitors of Madisonville can enjoy waterfront dining with direct boat access in the Marina, featuring the TBT open air experience with waterfront views, dockside dining and amazing sunsets.

Bay St. Louis was the mother ship location of The Blind Tiger which first opened in May, 2013 on the marina front in Bay St. Louis. Still in the aftermath of Katrina, TBT was the first building on waterside side since the hurricane. Jerry Fisher’s Dock of Bay, located nearby before being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, seemed like a good site for him to bring a new bar and restaurant. It also fronts the newly constructed marina offering 500 feet of piers, with easy access to get to come by boats of all sizes.

The small bar was an instant hit which quickly led to an expansion both on the north and south sides to accommodate the local patrons.

This location was so successful that it led to the expansion of the concept to Biloxi, MS and Slidell and Madisonville, LA.

ABOUT THE OWNER
THOMAS GENIN

Thomas Genin, the owner of The Blind Tiger, began his culinary career under Emeril Lagasse and since has conceived, built and operated and host of different restaurant concept. His first establishment was Tigres in Pass Christian, MS. Tigres was a Coast favorite offering fine dining until it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005.

Thomas loves to travel the Bahamas and Caribbean. He liked the casual bars, the open air, laid back feel, and the good food he found in little out-of-the-way places there. So, he conceived a restaurant where you could have the same type of experience without the travel time and expense of actually going to the islands. He and a partner built three locations before he sold his share and set out once again on his culinary journey.

This led to experimentation with a series of restaurant concepts including The Blind Tiger, Marina Cantina, RAW, Whiskey Prime, AJAX, Mother Cluckers, the TBT Boil Room and The Shrimp Factory.

The original Blind Tiger location was so successful that it led Thomas to expand to three more locations in Biloxi, Slidell, LA, and Madisonville, LA.
